[Core][EC3101] Microeconomics Analysis II (By Assoc Prof Indranil Chakraborty)
Grading: 35% Midterm (MCQ) 55% Final (3 MCQ + 8 structure for sem 2 ay10/11) Tutorial participation
Lecturer: rather approachable and friendly, his explanation is clear... however, one thing you might find discouraging is finding a time to have consultation with him, as he seldom checks e-mail and mostly checks ivle forum, his consultation especially during peak period is rather discouraging thou, yet, he would explain very patiently to you and make sure you understand.
Content covered: rather handable, as it is microeconomics course, foundation of mathematics might help you in scoring well and better. more mathematical and graphical approach. textbook is essential and a must to buy.
Examinations: Do not underestimate the MCQ questions, even if the topics covered seems easy, it could be rather tricky and brain-consuming as well. For final, it might be a bit harder than you would expect.
Tutorial class: you will be given a sheet to circle the questions you are able to do/ present, you would be called out randomly and marks would be given based on the questions you circle and deduct if you couldn't present the question on board if you are called out.
Textbook used: Intermediate Microeconomics – A Modern Approach (8th Edition) by Hal R. Varian. W.W. Norton and Company
Overall, I would strongly advise if you are wondering whether you should take under him, he is really a fantastic lecturer and yeap, you should take his without much hesitation. It's a core, so you have to take it anyway.
