[CORE][EC3102] Macroeconomics Analysis II (by Dr Zhu Shenghao)

This module introduces many different macroeconomics models, adding on to those covered in EC2102. The grading system consists of 10% class participation, 10% graded assignments/tutorials, 40% midterms and 40% finals.

Dr Zhu has a very strong accent and tends to speak softly, so it is hard to understand him during the first 2 lectures before you get used to his accent. Fortunately, the lectures mirrors the textbook and you can follow the lectures easily by reading the textbook. (the lecture notes are actually from the textbook publisher!)

Under Dr Zhu, not much knowledge in Maths is needed. Basic calculus is required to differentiate an equation in order to obtain the optimal (max/min) point. His papers are do-able, and it is possible to score well in them if you dont make careless mistakes.

I would personally advise students who wish to take under his class reconsider before selecting the module. The feedback is not very encouraged. Perhaps he is still quite new and not familiar with the surrounding, but boring tone, confused slang and etc. However, he set pretty doable paper for this semester, which makes you harder to score as well because it is simply EASY for most of us. Think twice. DON'T ever make any careless mistakes for the paper he set.
