This module talks about the factors affecting the labour supply and demand in society. It explores many theories about how education, government policies, discrimination etc can affect the labour market using microeconomic theories.

The grading is as follows:
4 Problem Sets: 20%
Paper Assignment: 25%
Final: 45%
Class Participation: 10%

The Problem Sets are basically assignments that you have to complete in groups of 4. In the same group, we have to complete the paper assignment too. It is an editorial exploring a topic (of your choice) related to the labour market. We had to submit a draft (ungraded) to be peer reviewed. Next, there is a short presentation (10%), and people will give feedback. We also have to comment on another group's draft. Finally, we edit and submit our final paper (15%). The final paper uses a lot of basic maths.

Dr Jessica is a very good lecturer. During lectures, she will give real-life examples to make the theories interesting. In tutorials, she also patiently explains any queries that you have. I would strongly recommend this module under her.
